As a kid, summer vacation seemed to last forever. I got to visit family, go to amusement parks, and hang out with friends. It felt like I had enough time to do all of those things twice over and still have time to get my mind right for school being back in session. Fast forward to today, I notice everyday that we lose a minute of sunlight and the drastic temperature drop during the night and day. Summer, why you no last longer!?
Man, it’s already April! I’m sure that’s what we are all thinking and I can’t even blame you. The year is literally flying by and what makes it worse is the mild winter we had. You’re probably thinking, “what does a mild winter have to do with anything”, right? Well, I legit feel like the change of season was so subtle that we never really got out of one and went into another. All winter long there were 60+ degree Fahrenheit weather days, which made it feel like fall was still lingering and spring was around the corner. There was no miserably cold weather to make us wish the months would go faster because it’s been overarchingly warm since last April.
Ever since my mom was in charge of making sure I was clean, clothed, and fed, I’ve been using Secret as my go-to deodorant. As I got older and learned about the confirmed and unconfirmed dangers of the main ingredient in most deodorants, aluminum, I decided I wanted to make informed decisions about something that I was applying to my body every single day.
Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! This was the first year I celebrated Christmas away from my family and I thought it would be harder than it actually was. I thought I’d be all mopey and sad, but I put my big girl pants on and enjoyed myself.
So, I’ve seen these types of videos all over YouTube and thought I’d want to join the party… but over here, of course, on my blog. I was lucky enough to get some pretty awesome gifts although I asked for nothing this year. So, without further ado, here’s what I got for Christmas this year.
I’m always on the hunt for a good book to read. When I was a kid, I would go through so many books in a month, it was almost unreal. I was at the library every Wednesday returning books and taking out books to tide me over until the next Wednesday. I remember specifically it was Wednesdays because, surprise, I was a part of a book club.
In today’s post, I share with you a few of the books I’ve read this year and one all-time favorite that I always mention, along with a mini synopsis of each.
